There is a data port in the back but according to [the manual](https://static.dxengineering.com/global/images/instructions/dys-ku73011bk.pdf) it is only used for programming. With that we’ll be going the typical route for mobile rigs with Mic/PTT connection in front and headphones connection in the back.

The aviation type mic connector looks like GX12-6 or GX16-6.
The headphones connection use BTL design so we can’t connect ground on TRS connector for the audio output. See more details on this situation in [another post](https://forum.digirig.net/t/cable-for-anytone-at-778uv/190).

The cable pinout should be:

GX pin #1 (MIC) → 3.5mm TRRS ring 1 (RIG\_AFIN)
GX pin #2 (GND) → 3.5mm TRRS sleeve (GND)
GX pin #4 (PTT) → 3.5mm TRRS ring 2 (PTT)
3.5mm TRS tip (headphone) → 3.5mm TRRS tip (RIG\_AFOUT)

Does one of your cables work for the TYT TH8600?

Unfortunately, none of the off-the-shelve cables available at this time would fit this model.

The microphone connector for this radio is the GX12-6.

Did you get a digirig working on your TH-8600? Thinking about making a cable. To add some more utility to this radio that I have in a field box for quick deployment. I would use it more for impromptu winlink or APRS.

If you built it and no longer have a need for it, I’d buy it off you if it’s collecting dust.

I made the cable per the specs in this thread and it works! The rear TRS jack on this radio kind of pops any TRS male plug out a bit but it makes contact with the tip enough to work.

Glad to see it working for you. I put mine together and found the same issue with the audio on the back. otherwise it works great.
