# Digirig-Lite not recognized on Ubuntu-Linux

I have a brand-new Digirig-Lite that I’m trying to configure on a Linux laptop. The green PWR LED illuminates and the device is visible on lsusb and dmesg as:
C-Media Electronics, Inc. USB Audio Device
Not seeing the UART bridge. I can identify the card and device by running arecord -l and audio settings can be adjusted in alsamixer. My user is a member of the dialout group and I have no issues interfacing directly to an Icom-7300 on port /dev/ttyUSB0 of a USB hub, so I know nothing is missing in the OS. When I plug and unplug the Digirig into the hub, however, I’m not generating a new serial interface /dev/ttyUSB\*. I do see a new instance of dev/hidraw\*. I have tried without the hub and also on a second Linux laptop with the same results.
I’m not connected to a radio but I assume that’s not a prerequisite for Linux to recognize this peripheral hardware.
Edit: I’m now close to convinced there is something amiss with my Digirig hardware. When I plug/unplug other serial peripherals into the USB hub, the CP210x UART bridge operates correctly. I’ve duplicated this on 3 different Linux laptops. Same behavior if a transceiver is connected to the Digirig. It appears the device bridge firmware is missing or not properly configured.

I am experiencing the same issue with Ubuntu Linux running on an Evolve Maestro III. I am trying to set-up my Digi rig Lite with the trUSDX and WSJXT. I have WSJXT set to no for rig and to RTS for PTT. When I test PTT I get an IO error. I would appreciate any help resolving this also.

There is no UART in Digirig Lite. Available PTT methods are GPIO3 and VOX/tone. Please refer to the [product listing](https://digirig.net/product/digirig-lite/) and [setup tutorial](https://digirig.net/digirig-lite-setup-manual/) for detailed information.

Did you run “sudo usermod -a -G tty ” and “sudo usermod -a -G dialout ” . I had simular problems with my digirig and that corrected it.
