# Digrig 891 use with Wsjt-x and FLdigi

I’m sure this must have been asked before but can WSJT-X and Fldigi be configured to be used on the same computer. I currently have WSJT-X up and running but I’m not sure how to configure the rig and the computer. When I read through some of the settings for FLDIGI seems like there are other items in the menu that need to be configured that are different than the instructions for WSJT-X. My goal would be to be able to run either program without messing with menu setting if possible. The rig work great with WSJT-X following the settings as noted on the website.

Both apps can be on the same computer, but normally you would run one app at-a-time.
The serial ports can only be opened by a single app. There are workarounds for port sharing, but they don’t make much difference since you only operate one mode at a given time anyway.
As far as software configuration goes, some settings appear similar in different apps, some may use different terminology. To get started, please check out the setup tutorial for DR-891 and look for the video tutorials from various content creators online.
