New cables work great with VARA FM yet no sound out of radio speakers. Also transmits well with Fldigi again no sound out of radio speakers…

no sound when receiving?
(because no sound when transmitting is normal 🙂 )

volume knob?
headphones plugged into jack
some yaesu setting that mutes the speaker when using rear acc jack?
squelch setting?
(squelch knob usually has NO effect on rear panel jacks)

sorry, i’m no help at all with yaesu products
☹
good luck

When switching from HF to VHF operation, change menu 80 from RF-Gain to SQL. That changes the gain knob into a squelch knob, and you can crank the squelch all the way down for VHF digimodes.
