# FT817nd suddenly stuck in transmit

Installed new digirig 6 weeks ago. Everything working EXACTLY as advertised…flawless on a 3 month old Windows 11 machine.
Yesterday we had a power outage. I rebooted the PC and reset the rigs. Left the shack to take care of some fallen trees, came back and the 817 was stuck with transmit ON. The digirig unit was warm, the rig was very warm. Shut everything down for the night.
Rebooted everything this morning, and the digirig still puts the 817 into transmit. No COM port recognized either, no sound device recognized. I reset the 817, changed USB ports. Still the digirig is not recognized by the computer. Everything else on the PC appears to work fine.
What troubleshooting steps can I try with the digirig, or do I just assume it is fried internally?

If Digirig is no longer recognized it is likely that it got damaged during outage/storm. External events are not covered by the warranty, but shoot me a support request through the website and we’ll work something out.
