Programming YAESU FTM150E with sotfware ADMS-17 and digirig mobile RS232

Hi,

I have the Digirig Mobile RS232 version, a Yaesu FTM MiniDin10 Cable (SKU: YSU10CAT): https://digirig.net/product/yaesu-ftm-cable/e, and an FTM150E. I only see one COM3 port, and it works with RST for PTT activation. With Digirig and Soundmodem, everything works perfectly. For programming the radio via the ADMS-17 software, do I use the same COM3, or should I see another one? In the menu, I only find COM3, which is obviously occupied by Soundmodem and RTS. I tried using COM3 in ADMS-17, but when I try to communicate with the radio, I get an I/O error. Should I see another COM port, or is it normal to see only COM3? Should it work?

Can you help me?
Gianluca

only one comport

all other software using the comport must be ‘closed’ in order to release the comport for use with another program.

rs232 programming software may also fail if it requires hardware flow control. RTS/DTR are not connected to the digirig serial jack and are not available for programming software. RTS is connected to the audio+ptt jack for ptt use, NOT hardware flow control.

good luck

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I did as you suggested. I closed the TNC that was using COM3, and everything worked perfectly. Evidently, YAESU’s ADMS-17 software does not use flow control to communicate with the radio.

Thank you very much,

Gianluca
