I purchased the AnyTone AT-778UV Audio/PTT Cable because it says that it works on the QYT KT-9900. But the cable features an RJ connector while the KT-9900 has a DIN style screw on connector. in fact except for the 3.5mm spkr plug there is nothing abut this cable that is compatible with the KT-9900 radio. What gives?

Paul,
I checked the compatibility assignment for AT-778UV cable and it was indeed incorrect listing KT-9900. My apologies for the mix-up, we’ll get this sorted out.

There are several GX16 cables in store, but from what I can tell based on the [information online](https://manuals.plus/qyt/kt-9900-25w-waterproof-mini-car-two-way-radio-manual) there is no exact match.

You can use the cable you received and replace the RJ-45 connector with the GX16-8 matching your radio. If you prefer not to deal with the homebrew project or would rather make the cable from scratch, please let me know and I’ll provide a prepaid return shipping label for the return of the cable.

It looks like there is a rebrand of the same radio which was discussed earlier:

> Hello! This is a long shot, but maybe a fun puzzle for somebody. sweat_smile I created a custom cable to interface with the Anysecu WP-9900. The pinout of the hand mic is: ([source](https://manuals.plus/anysecu/wp-9900-mobile-fm-transceiver-manual)) The good news: audio in/out works The bad news: PTT does not work What I discovered is when pin 1 in shorted, it actually presses the MONI button (#1), not the PTT: In other words, a short “press” on pin 1 toggles the “monitoring” mode, and a long “press” turns the radio on and off. Is the …

Question: I have had the microphone cable pull out if the mic connector. I do know the mic jack poinout but what I need is the mic cable color code in order to re-solder. Multiple wires broke off of the connector. I have reached out to QYT on several occasioins but have not received a reply. ASny info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

N3JZE

Color coding is not always reliable, confirming connections with a continuity tester is a better option. If you need help figuring out the signals, post pictures of both sides of the mic’s board and we’ll try determine the wiring.

Thank you for your response. I have attached two photos for reference. Inside the microphone is a molex-type connector onto the circuit board. At this time I have not taken the circuit board out of the microphone housing to trace out the circuits. I was hoping to purchase a replacement cable, match the colors on my original cable, repair, and use the original as a spare. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful in obtaining a replacement cable. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t better strain relief clamping on the mic cable connector.

Information would be helpful.

Thank you,

The PCB doesn’t show any markings, there may be some silkscreen print on the back side that could help identify the signals. I did google lens search and it came up with this among the results:

May be a similar color scheme if you want to trust it.

Thanks. The photo you sent is quite different mainly due to not only audio. PTT, and up.down buttons, but has additional functions since the microphone is also the control head.

I will need to possibly trace out the circuit board.

Thanks again.
