Anytone 578UVIII plus delaying packet transmission?

Radio settings under MENU/SETTINGS/ RADIO SET/ VOICE: SPEAKER MODE= MIC SPK, MIC SPK SET= PATH MAIN, ENHANCED SOUND=NORMAL

UNDER MENU/SETTINGS/RADIO SET/OTHER: ANA SW LEVEL= OFF, HAND TYPE= VOLT-DET

Digirig non-cat cable, digirig lite.

I’ve used Emcomm tools and Radiomail with the same results. Listening with an ht, it sounds like portions of the packet are getting cut off at the front of the transmission.

I set the delay from 300ms to 600ms in radiomail and it sounded better, but still no response from receiving station.

I have confirmed with another radio that the receiving stations are up and running with another radio.

Is there a radio setting that would delay my packet from transmitting? Perhaps the APRS tx delay?

i don’t have that radio but i would look for a menu entry labeled ‘STE’ or ‘squelch tail elimination’.

this setting holds PTT for a bit after the button, or software, releases it.
this can cause the radio to miss the header of the reply packet of the DX station.

the TXd is, as you said, TX delay. a higher number will wait longer after radio ‘keys up’ to start sending audio.

a lower number allows ‘quicker turn around’ but might incur more retries.

you can crank up the TXd really high to get a connect, then drop it back down bit by bit until it fails again, then go back up a few.

lastly, can you hear the audio from the DX station at all?
have a friend start up a session while your radio is unplugged from the digirig and see if you can hear at least one side of the session through the radio speaker.

good luck
