Anytone AT D578uv

Hi,
Have just purchased a new Anytone 578uv, digirig and both none cat and cat cables. Have tried to setup varafm but am having a problem.
When everything is connected and all audio and speaker levels are adjusted I can send and the other person recieves a good pattern, but I am not getting a reply, the audio needle moves but no decoding or pattern.
All when trying to set the audio input level the needle is very erratic and wont set, only seems to move when I adjust the volume.
Squelch is 0
speaker set to to mic or both.
Change to volt det when using none cat cable.
I;m sure there is a setting I have missed, maybe in the CPS programming software or something but I cant see anything wrong.
Have tried a friends digirig to see if mine is faulty but theres does exactly the same.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Steve

Steve,

You can monitor the incoming audio from the radio to make sure it sounds good and you can actually hear the response from the remote station on your computer.

See how this can be done using the “listen” feature in the Control Panel.

Have just put varafm on my wife’s laptop. Exactly the same setting and works perfectly. I must have some conflicts or corrupted files. Only have the one usb port.

Do you have the correct sound card mic selected and then unmuted in volume control? I’ve also noticed that the 578 has a tendency to feel like the RJ-45 is seated all the way when it isn’t.

Thanks for the advice, I found out what the problem was. I had monitor on VFO B so it was picking up the rx from A and B. Turned of the VFO B monitoring and all good.
