I’ve finally got FT8 working well on my iPad thanks to a new app and a Digirig Lite. I’ve written it up in the following post.

Wow ! Easy peasy setup, running FT8 in minutes!
I borrowed my DR Lite from my Linux computer running Greywolf, plugged it into the iPad, ran the KX3 DR cables into the DR Lite (without the black serial cable), started up the Greyline FT8, entered my credentials and within seconds I was decoding and minutes later, I had my first contact, W1AW/1 in the log, sent to QRZ automatically!
The PSK reporter integration is great, along with a host of other features.
So my next step is running Greyline on my older Lightning iPhone. This will save me carrying 2 phones, the iPhone for internet and Ham2K logging and the Android for running FT8CN.
This is an awesomely simple setup!

Tried an Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera adapter with my iPhone 13 but got an “USB Audio Device accessory requires too much power “ Error warning. The transmit audio is going out of the phone’s speaker and not through the adapter to the Digirig. Will think through an alternative or just get a new iPhone!

Since my last reply where I was quickly able to set up FT8 with Greyline FT8, iPad, Digirig Lite and KX3 I also upgraded my iPhone from 13 to 17 Pro.
I tested the iPhone 17Pro with Digirig Lite and both KX3 and G90. Both worked right away, plug and play with Greyline FT8! This is by far the best super light mobile Digital solution. Will test it out with trusdx next.
Addendum- A cheap Amazon Lightning to USB-C adapter worked to connect my iPhone 13 running Greyline FT8 to the Digirig Lite and KX3. Receive, decode and transmit worked fine.
