Baofeng UV-5R Mini and Digirig mobile

I have the Baofeng UV-5R Mini HT. I am trying to program it with CHIRP. I am using the Digirig Mobile with the Digirig Baofeng green cable plugged into the serial portion of the Digirig box. When I plug the unit into the Windows 10 computer, it had me install the CP210X USB to UART Bridge drivers.

When I attempt to read from the radio in CHIRP, the program graphic briefly displays on the HT but then goes away. The error on CHIRP says “No response from radio. Check connector and cabling!” I’ve also tried this on my Macbook Air with the exact same result.

I also tried with the Baofeng CPS software v1.07 and got a read data failure even though the program screen on the HT lit up for a few seconds.

Here is the firmware information from the radio.

Radio: 100
Firmware v0.27
Hardware: v1.7

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I had problems programming my Baofeng HT until I pushed hard on the K connector to fully seat the connectors.

Hi, I have the same radio and I can confirm that it does work. Check the plug is fully inserted into the radio and verify your didirig is wired for ttl not ci-v etc.
