Cable differences: 1200 baud vs 9600 baud

I’m setting up my Kenwood TM-V71 radio and see that the cable set comes with the 1200 baud 6 pin cable. I also see that the 9600 baud cable (sold separately) is available.

How is the 9600 cable physically different from the 1200?

Why would I not want the 9600 instead of the 1200?

OR, would I benefit from both, switching them between applications?

Thanks,

There is a difference in wiring of received audio pin. You can see it in the schematics provided in the product pages. 1200 baud is a default wiring, but there is no downside to using 9600baud path for digital modes. It is not preferred for voice applications though.
