Cable for ICOM IC-T10

Hi everyone. Yes, this is yet another “What cable for my HT?” post.

Looking at the pinout in the IC-T10 advanced manual, the speaker mic jack uses 2.5mm TRS & 3.5mm TRS connectors, with a 5v output on the ring of the mic (2.5mm) connector. The product images for the ICOM HT cable show TS connectors for the HT end. This would short the 5v bias to ground.

Is there an alternative cable I can use?

Yes, ICOM HTs with dual connector usually use this cable: ICOM HT Cable for Digirig Mobile – digirig The sockets should be 10mm between the centers.

The power to the mic is in milliamps and should be current limited by the radio. So far there were no reports of any issues related to the mic bias voltage from the radio.
