Cable for Wouxun KG-1000G

Based on above pinout the Digirig audio cable will look like this:

RJ45 pin 1 (MIC) → 3.5mm TRRS ring 1 (RIG_AFIN)
RJ45 pin 2 (GND) → 3.5mm TRRS sleeve (GND)
RJ45 pin 6 (PTT-KEY) → 3.5mm TRRS ring 2 (RIG_PTT)
RJ45 pin 8 (AF) → 3.5mm TRRS tip (RIG_AFOUT)

The good approach would be to use one of the existing shielded/choked TRRS cables and crimp on the RJ-45 jack on the transceiver end.

Wow I’m glad I found this, I have two of these radios (well, one KG1000G and one KG-UV980P, but I suspect the handmic and cable is identical). I will try making one of these, but if you ever sell this cable I will buy two!

So cut one end off the linked audio cable and replace the 3.5mm end with the RJ-45 end? How would I know which wires in the audio cable are the (RIG_AFIN), (GND), (RIG_PTT), and (RIG_AFOUT) wires? Are they color coded?

Unless something like the Yaesu FT-2500M cable would work…I think it would be easier/cleaner for me to just modify a cat6 cable. If I’m looking at it right, that would be:

Pin #4 to Pin #2

Pin #5 to Pin #1

Pin #6 to Pin #6

Pin #7 to Pin #8
