Cannot get MMSSTV to work with y IC-2730A

I am having no luck getting Digirig to work with MMSTV, and also FLDIGI. I did get it to receive with MMSTV from reading a post that said the RX went through SP2. But, once I plugged in the RJ45 to the radio it went into PTT, an stayed there. Everything looks good in Device Manager so I think it should work, but it doesn’t. I am using WIN 11. Any help would be appreciated or point me in the direction where I can find help/setup info. It is supposed to be a backup for my Signalink.

if the radio is switching to TX when you plug the digirig in, flow control has been enabled in whichever software you’re using.

you must choose ‘none’ in the CAT/CI-V/remote control section of your chosen software.

digirig mobile uses the RTS line of the comport for ptt so if flow control is enabled, it will key up the radio anytime the software is running.

there is sometimes a section with ‘RTS +12v’ or RTS high/low.
those should NOT be selected as well

(i’m assuming you’re using a digirig mobile of course)

good luck

I do not have CAT control enabled in either MMSSTV or FLDIGI. The IC-2730a does not have an RTS line. I am stumped. I generally do not have a problem interfacing software to a radio. I did not have any problem interfacing mh Signalink to the 2730A, but that’s a totally different design. THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY!! I APPRECIATE IT!

Harry,

Is your Digirig relatively recent? Revision 1.5 (years back) used 3 contact sockets and they can short out the PTT line on 4-contact jacks in current versions of Digirig cables causing radio to keyup even when Digirig itself is not even powered up.

sorry, i was stating that the ptt function is toggled on/off by the RTS line of the comport on the digirig mobile.
the signalink is vox activated. this difference is usually where a ptt issue is caused when a user moves between the two devices/methods.

Hi Denis. Yes I just got it on Wednesday. Are you talking about the pads on the bottom of the board, which I have seen pics of? Haven’t taken mine apart yet.
Wonder if that is the problem. WIll hunt around to see how the pad are configured in different ways. THANKS

I was referring to the sockets in which you plug the transceiver cables. Digirig started out with 3-contac socket and years back switched to 4 contact sockets to accommodate PTT line in the audio socket.

The pads configuration on the back of the PCB doesn’t have any effect on hardware PTT so no it has to be something else at play here.

You reported a successful receive, can you elaborate on how that worked in terms of setup and connections?

I did get it to receive with MMSTV from reading a post that said the RX went through SP2.

Moot point right now. It is not doing anything. I sent an email to the company where I bought it. How do I delete this post?
