I bought the cable that is supposed to do CAT. I can get sound via the digirig but no matter what I cannot get the radio to tune or to PTT. The Serial cable is detected as COM5 but none of the methods work in either WJST-X or VARA FM. This cable is supposed to do it all. I followed all the articles. changed the mic type and turned off squelch.
That sounds frustrating. I do not own this radio, but I don’t want your question to go unanswered. There is a guide, Troubleshooting Digital Modes – digirig which will help you isolate the problem. Perhaps you can post a screencapture of your File → Settings → Radio from WSJTx which other owners of the D578UV-Plus can use for comments.
