ty but no, I have already read over those as well.

I emailed the customer support. I have talked with a few others who bought the first round of the digi891 and they are having issues as well.

not just the com port but also Tx issues.

ty for the attempt though I appreciate it.

I’m curious why you did not post your question in the existing threads for DR-891 or Yaesu FT-891, or a new thread? Is there something unclear about how the forum software works?

Good luck with the troubleshooting.

Unlike Digirig Mobile, DR-891 doesn’t provide its own serial port. Instead it passes through one of the internal USB hub’s downlink ports to the pink socket so you can connect the USB-based serial port of FT-891.

Please make sure you use the cable with the red molding that came with the kit to connect radio’s USB-C socket to DR-891’s pick socket.

If you still don’t see any serial ports detected by your computer, try connecting a USB cable directly from the radio to the computer and check for the serial ports.

If you still don’t see new serial ports then look for the entities with the exclamation mark icon listed in the Device Manager. If you see one that looks like a serial port (UART) then you need to install a driver.

it appears that the solder locations for the 3mm jacks were not soldered very well. As per the developer’s suggestion, I have added some more and will check the results. have a server T-Storm moving into my location right now.

Contrainted…for me, this seemed like a specific topic moreso than a general one for the ft-891, hence the new thread. Least that was my mindset.

I’m glad you have something to try. Good luck with the iron!

Soldering the connection points seems to have fixed the issues.

I can now see the Com ports show up and have been able to successfully use JS8CALL and Winlink.

Just a POI for others if the same issue comes up, might be worth checking.
