Using WSJT-X v.3.01 (just updated) on Windows 11
Radio: Kenwood TS-480
Baud: 9600 (have also tested 57600 and others. Reset radio between changed settings)
8 bits data
1 stop bit
(How to check or set parity on radio?)
Handshake: Hardware
Force Control Lines: both blank
PTT Method: CAT on COM11 (same COM as under CAT Control and verified on Device Manager)
Rear/Data
USB
Fake It (Also tried Rig in Split Operation, neither works)
When I try to Test CAT, the radio’s red Tx light turns on. I have the rig set to only 5W and all the cables have the stock ferrites on them. I did wrap two loops of the USB cable through a ferrite bead with no change. I get a communication error and the rig hasn’t responded to the software. The VFO never changes.
I have confirmed that the radio still has stock firmware but nothing in the notes suggests any changes to the COM operation has changed. I’ll have to update the firmware at a later time. Any ideas are appreciated.
Round connector plugged into the port labeled DATA going to the Audio port on the Digirig mobile and the DB9 connector connected to the serial port.
I’ve gotten this to work with the digirig on my Kenwood TS-450S with a different cable set.
