Difficulty with Galaxy Tab A7 lite using APRSdroid, digirig lite, and tyt8000e

I am having difficulty setting up APRSdroid on a Galaxy Tab A7 lite using a DigiRig Lite cable with the DigiRig Audio K1 (Baofeng) cable, and a TYT8000e radio. APRSdroid is receiving audio from the radio but will not PTT the radio. APRSdroid is set to AFSK, DigiRig, prefix of 1000ms, Baud rate of 4800. Have tried the DigiRig lite both with directly plugging into the USB -c port and with USB-c OTG. Any suggestions?

Michael,

Two thinks to check:

  • does the radio keyup when you short PTT to GND on Digirig’s end of the cable?
  • does Digirig Lite’s red LED turn on when you are attempting to transmit?

Yes and No (I believe the issue is settings within the Android smart device as I can get everything to work on a IOS smart device).

Try a different app. There are many for Android these days.
