Digirig 891 and ardop

I was previously using the older digirig mobile, but moved that to another radio and “upgraded” to the 891 model.

I’ve figured out any digital mode I use, I have to MAKE SURE audio comes out of only one side. Mono, left I think it was. Or else the PTT goes absolutely NUTS. lol.

Attempted to do some ardop winlink this morning for some “winlink Wednesday” and my good ol haywire rapid-fire PTT has returned because ardop doesn’t have a setting to only send audio down one channel that I can find.

Any ideas?

You can disable VOX PTT for good by using solder pads on the back on the PCB - just carefully cut the trace connecting the two pads.

Excellent! That’s what I was guessing when I actually read the manual, just wanted to be 100% sure.

I guess the older mobile version didn’t have this extra little feature?

Digirig Mobile doesn’t support PTT by VOX. The available PTT methods with Digirig Mobile are PTT by RTS and PTT via CAT.
