Well here we go… I have a simplex 6 meter repeater and am using a Yaesu 891 connected to a ringo antenna. The idea is to connect the Yaesu 891 to a Raspberry pi and connect to allstar. I purchased the DR891 kit and connected it. for 50% it was plug and play! When the node is linked and there is voice over allstar, the Radio goes into transmit and sends the voice over the airwaves. Perfect! The problem is it won’t go the other way… I cant get signals coming in to the radio to send through the digirig into the pi. I am sure there must be a way to get this to work. Thanks for any help.
i’m no help when it comes to the pi, sorry.
what COR/COS method have you selected in the allstar software ?
lastly, when you say repeater, are you running the parrot repeater on the allstar node?
good luck

Thanks for the wishes.. I have not tried changing the cos mode yet but good tip. No its currently an open simplex repeater south of Minneapolis. We also have a full 6 meter repeater in Burnsville that is always down, a new 6 meter repeater also south of Minneapolis and a 6 meter repeater in north Minneaplolis that is about finished to go online. I am trying to make it affordable by using a FT-891 which should work considering the Digirig works with me. I had an Alinco that failed internally but worked well so I thought I would try an 891 I had laying around. Let me look into the cos selection thought. Thanks!
my allstarlink nodes are pre v3 so it may not apply:
an allstar node isn’t a simplex repeater by default.
to get the node to repeat, parrot mode must be turned on.
then the node will repeat what it hears via RF after cos/cor drops.
now, if we are just getting our terms mixed up and you just need audio from the radio to enter the allstarlink network, i’d try simpleusb for the radio definition.
that’s what i use so i don’t need an actual cor/cos signal line from the radio/interface.
(it’s been ages ago but the ‘tune’ menu selection needs to run to set the rx audio trigger threshold as well)
good luck
