When setting up the digirig I have rig control working but not audio. When setting up the Audio the input list the device but not the output when setting up WSJTX and JS*Call. (I am running Linux Ubuntu 24.4) I can communicate and program the radio (Yaesu FT 817nd(US)) FLRig works as well. the audio settings for computer show the correct device in the output but not the input. Anyone have any Ideas on how to fix the problems
Do you get both input and output devices listed when connecting your Digirig to a PC?
Bus 001 Device 011: ID 0d8c:0012 C-Media Electronics, Inc. USB Audio Device .. Bus 001 Device 009: ID 10c4:ea60 Silicon Labs CP210x UART Bridge
I only get the USB Audio devise in the output but not input
There is just one USB device for the sound card.
You will see separate input and output components when you inspect the sound settings with something like alsamixer
What do the options for the audio devices look like in the dropdown?
Not obvious choices, but I’d start by trying entries beginning with “alsa_”.
C-Media is the manufacturer of the audio codec in Digirig so that’s a match.
I have tried that but no luck. Thanks
I’d give it a try on a Windows PC to rule out any hardware related issues. With that out of the way you can focus strictly on system software on the Linux side.
Before I say anything else. The last time I owned a windows machine (2019) it pissed me off so bad I ended up tossing it across the room… I just went out to the pawnshop and got a used win 11 laptop ($85). The sound card is working but the rig control isn’t I get message “Invalid Parameter” with a whole list of possible problems. one is “usb not valid comport” the only serial port option is “usb” Possible missing drivers. I am going to try to rest it to factory then reinstall WSJTX . Might take a few hours.
