Hardware details: computer running newest version of Kubuntu, Direwolf, Yaesu FTM-150-RASP, DigiRig Lite with Yaesu FTM MiniDin10 Cable - 1200 baud audio + PTT
I’ve gone through the whole setup procedure but when I start Direwolf, the radio keys up and transmits a tone and doesn’t stop. Perhaps I have something wrong in the settings? The PTT is set to COM108. I tried setting up as VOX and had the same issue.
This is all new to me, so I’m a little ignorant to all of this. The goal is to play around with Packet radio.
Let me know if more information is needed. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Try only connecting Digirig Lite and leaving radio unconnected.
Following the full reboot/restart, does Digirig Lite red LED still turn on indicating active PTT and later turn off at the end of transmission cycle in the software?
Yes, even when unplugged from the radio, the PTT light turns red and stays on for approximately 55 seconds until Direwolf automatically closes. Same timeframe as when plugged into the radio.
To confirm, you have the DigiRig Lite working now on an FTM-150R?
Im about to attempt that with Win11 and wasnt able to verify compatibility from the DR website. Which cable did you use?
This tread discusses Linux-based setup. Because you’re interested in connecting to a Windows computer, the information here may be not levant to your use case.
The correct cable for your Yaesu FTM is this one:
Please refer to the details in the cable’s product page for help deciding which variant of this cable will work best for you.
If you need to look up the cables’ compatibility for additional transceiver models, please navigate to Reference->Selecting Cables at the Digirig website.
