Digirig Lite setup challenges

Hello hope this post finds all of you healthy and safe you and yours. I’m having trouble setting up my Digirig Lite on a pair of inexpensive Evolve iii Maestro laptops.

Both running Windows 10 pro educational.

I’m following the instructions on how to set up the audio USB device and I cannot change the name on the entries to Digirig…It’s just not allowing me to. There’s no option for it. Has anyone run into this problem and what have you done to fix this?

Any help will be deeply appreciated as I’m going to function/field test this set up this weekend as a redundancy plan aside from my Toughbooks.

Thank you and let me know.

Can you share the screenshots of the interface where you are trying to rename the devices?

Are you logged into the system using an admin account?

You know what that is a good question. I will have to answer it later on today because I stepped out of the office, but I will get back to you as soon as I can.

when you get a chance, type ‘mmsys.cpl’ into the run/search/cmd ‘box’ of windows taskbar

that will open up a panel that should let you rename the audio devices.
on the first ‘page’, double click the device you want to work with.
another page will open up with multiple tabs.
the first page will already highlight the current name in a text box, just type the new name there.

that takes care of the ouput of the computer/digirig
close that page

back at the original page, select the recording tab and repeat the double click device steps to rename the input to the digirig/computer

good luck

OK, I will try that when I get back. I just had a crazy schedule yesterday and I couldn’t get back to it. I will keep you guys posted. Thank you so much for the suggestion. And again,Denis, thank you for the quick response.
