Is it possible to use Digirig Lite with my FT-891? I understand that there will be no cat control and I am ok with that. I already have a standard Digirig and it works great! Just looking to simplify…
absolutely.
keep in mind, the PTT methods are different from the digirig mobile.
no cat ptt (since no cat control) and no RTS ptt (since no comport)
ptt via gpio as well as an inbuilt vox ptt if gpio isn’t supported in your chosen software.
you could still plug in another usb cable from radio to pc for cat control, BUT.
the DR-891, digirig 891, is a ‘drop-in’ fit. one cable from pc to digirig and two to the radio.
good luck

I just received my DR-891. Let me tell you, it’s the bee’s knees for the Yaesu FT-891 radio. It’s not just for FT8/4 & CAT control, I’ve been using it for PSK-31, and RTTY & CW are next on my list of experiments/rests.
