Recently secured a Digirig lite and mobile. Connecting to a Yaesu FTM 500 using the Digirig FTM MiniDin10 cable and running APRSdroid.
When using the Digirig mobile (RS-232 variant), only the audio cable is plugged into the Digirig (no serial). APRSdroid is able to pick up packet traffic, but not able to send any packets. When plugging in headphones in the audio port I and am able to hear the packets when sending.
However, when I swap out the Digirig mobile with the Digirig lite and keep everything else the same (APRSdroid settings, radio settings, MiniDin10 cable), I am able to receive and send packets without issue.
Digirig Mobile and Digirig Lite support different PTT methods.
You will need to reconfigure APRSdroid for Digirig Mobile to use RTS signal of the serial port for PTT. More on that here:
Thanks for getting back to me Denis! Is there any guidance on APRSdroid configuration for RTS signal for PTT? I took a look at the link you shared and it says “PTT by RTS of COM port, PTT via CAT command” but I couldn’t find any guidance on how to configure.
Would this entail using the audio and serial inputs on the DR mobile?
