Digirig Mobile 1.7 / AT778UV / Linux XFCE / Direwolf

DigiRig Mobile Rev 1.11, using AT-778/RT95 cable.

Linux detects CP2102N on /dev/ttyUSB0 and C-Media audio device correctly.

Radio PTT works when I manually short TRRS R2 to sleeve on the radio cable. The radio keys normally, so the cable and radio PTT path are good.

Python RTS and DTR tests execute without error, but the radio never keys. Testing all RTS/DTR combinations also does not key.

Metering the DigiRig board PTT pad to GND shows no state change when RTS/DTR are toggled.

Question: does this board require a PTT jumper/config change, or is the PTT output stage likely faulty?

PTT by RTS is equally available on the audio socket regardless of the configuration of the serial port. For good measure it’s worth trying the same on Windows machine as demonstrated in the troubleshooting video. That will help rule out the hardware altogether so you can focus strictly on the software configuration.

Thanks for the reply. I will connect up to windows as suggested to check things out.

Well, I was never able to get the unit working on either Linux or windows and troubleshot it down to what i believed was the device itself. So I ordered a lite, and when that came in today, everything popped up and start working almost immediately (other than adjusting com port, etc). Sent a message via the digirig co tact form to see if I can send it back and have them tell me how much it would cost to repair or replace. Dont know if I inadvertently dis something to it, but don’t know what that could possibly be.

There is a bit of a difference between Digirig Mobile and Digirig Lite specifically pertaining to PTT methods. Swapping one for another is not a definitive test pointing at the failure of Digirig Mobile. You are welcome to send your Digirig Mobile in for retesting - follow up on the support email thread or start a new one.
