I have both FT8, JS8 and Winlink VARA-HF and ARDOP working.
In FLrig I do have CAT Control for Freqs and Modes BUT no PTT.
It was suggested I use PTT-Generic. Settings suggested:
PTT On Cat Serial Port
OFF(CAT)
OFF(RTS)
OFF(DTR)
No check marks
PTT Control
Port COM (My Com# is 7) (Same as my Rig Control Comport#) No other Com# available.
SET(RTS)
RTS+12V checked
When I enter my Com# 7 and set “SET RTS” “OFF DTR”
Enable RTS +12v
I click init and the COM# goes to none.
Now I can use RigCat in FLdigi with Toggle RTS for PTT and NO problems there.
So what am I doing wrong on FLrig.
AS a FYI I have tried Digirig Lite with a seperate CI-V CAT Control cable and all works as it should. But that defeats the purpose of using Digirig Mobile with built in CI-V Control.
This sounds like erratic behavior on the part of FlRig. Maybe due to a bug of some sort.
In my case (Windows PC) the port is not listed and I have to type it in. Then upon Init the radio keys up as expected.
Try explicitly typing in the serial port reference. Also see if behavior follows across different FlRig versions.
I did try downgrading, it exhibits the same behaviour (locks up PTT if use any of the RTS options).
It’s very odd because using the applications individually works really well).
All! I’m still at a loss.
Denis, I tried as you indicated but still them same problem.
I went to an earlier ver of 2.0 and its the same problem.
So I’m going to leave it at that for now. Anyway tnx for the help.
Were you able to solve this issue? Better yet, can anyone share your settings if you are using a digirig and IC-756 (non-pro) successfully?
I have been struggling to establish a connection with flrig or WSJT-X but so far without any success. It would be great to have a starting point of settings from someone who was able to get things to work.
Andrew! Yes I did.
I went back to FLrig 2.0.0 thru 2.0.03.
They worked but anything later than that NO!
Now that was last year, 2025. That radio has been replaced.
What version of FLrig r u running?
What I may suggest, uninstall FLrig using a uninstaller like REVO
using the Advance option and if you have any previous versions of FLrig do the same thing.
Once done trying installing FLrig 2.0.0.
You might install FLdigi and try both RIGCAT or Hamlib.
Unless someone else comes up with a good suggestion you might try contacting the FLDIGI Folks on groups.io.
I POSTED this last year: https://groups.io/g/winfldigi/topic/111174867#msg37947
Last but not least if all else fails I believe I can snag the 756 from our Club House. It helps that I’m on our Board.
You can call me on my Cell if you like, 415-827-4029
Thanks for all the info. I am currently using version 2.0.10 of FLrig.
I purchased my digirig mobile a few years ago now, and as I was turning over every rock last night trying to figure out what could possibly be the issue, I realized that digirig has multiple versions… and I highly doubt I have the CI-V version so that was ordered last night.
Once it comes in the mail I will try again with some of your suggestions and let you know how it goes.
I appreciate the offer of using your club’s IC-756 to help troubleshoot. If I continue to struggle, it would be great if we could perhaps do a virtual troubleshooting session over zoom if we can find a time that works for both of us.
