Multiple operators in our ARES group who use Digirig mobile to connect PC running Windows 11 to Yaesu FTM-150 radios are having the same issue. Radio transmits to gateway, but gateway doesn’t respond. We have verified all settings in WinLink and VARA FM are correct. We have been able to work it successfully with all radios in the past. The suddenly they are not working. Gateway works with operators using other sound cards
Suspect that there has been a Windows 11 or VARA update causing the issue. Anyone else seeing this?
It is just three individuals, using Windows 11 systems, with FTM – 150 radios, hitting different repeater, at different times. We haven’t had the time to begin a detailed troubleshooting of the issue. The intent of this post was to seek information and learn if there were any known issues.
I do not know of anyone in our ARES group who run Lynix, or Mac. But we also don’t keep a database of such. Maybe we should. We’re all volunteers just trying to help people asking for help.
i’m sorry i can’t be of much help other than to say;
the digirig itself, while coincidental, shouldn’t be the ‘issue’.
the audio device is identified the same as other cm108 type devices.
a win11 update could ‘break’ a number of things.
the silabs vcom driver (ptt for the digirig)
reassigning of comport #s (this also happens if the digirig mobile is plugged into another usb port)
varafm permissions
varafm itself may be out of date
i’m sorry i don’t have any ‘concrete’ ideas.
i have digirig mobiles on win11 and have not had any ‘disruptions’ of the digirig function so far.
