Digirig Mobile with TS680S and no CAT interface. Has microphone interface, how to get PTT to work

Hi,
Have a Digirig mobile and I also bought the interface cable for a TS680S mic socket, which works fine for RX. But no PTT function as rig has no CAT interface card in it. I thought it would use the PTT line in the mic socket but it doesn’t seem to. How do I configure digirig and the software to key PTT without the CAT interface on this radio please? Otherwise, it’s most of $300AU for an aftermarket CAT board and freight from the USA to Oz. ($99US plus $75US freight)

Geoff,
CAT capability is not required for PTT activation. In the software you are configuring set PTT by RTS signal of Digirig’s COM port.

Not seeing a com port. There’s a com 1 present even when digirig is unplugged, no other port or device is added when it’s plugged in. I get RX audio in FLDIGI but setting PTT to RTS does nothing, unsurprisingly since there is no comport from the digirig apparently. Digirig mobile. I’ve seen references to a driver needed for Win11, what is it please.

ok, found a Silicon Labs CP210x Universal Windows Driver. Installed. It now shows a com port but it has Error Cannot Start. Tried several USB ports, no difference. Wrong driver? If so what is the correct one? Win11 Pro 25H2.

Thanks for responding. Sorry I was so long getting back.
Found the driver and installed it. Get Error Device cannot start on every single USB port. However, my more recent laptop running same version of Win11, had to be force fed the driver, however, it works fine and FLDigi and MixW were able to key the transmitter just fine. No idea why it breaks on the ports in the other machine Intel Chipset incl USB3 and all my other USB devices work fine.

Any ideas?

Hi,
Ok, it’s working. Finally. For reasons that elude me, it took three reboots, but it’s now seeing Com5, I have PTT and Audio. Not sure what happened, but it seems to be all good. Except for MixW which is not showing the sound card selection tab but I suspect a reinstall will fix that.
