Digirig Mobile with Yaesu 10pin DIN to FTM-500D using VaraFM

I can pick up the audio from the radio and i’ve set VaraFM to the appropriate COM port (in my case SIX) but I am not able to get the Digirig to trigger the PTT when I have both cables (green/black) plugged in - what am I missing? Should I be able to trigger the PTT by “shorting” S to R2 on the black TRRS plug?

Yes, you should be able to simulate the hardware PTT from Digirig by shorting sleeve to nearest ring on Digirig’s black connector:

If radio doesn’t key up, please check the continuity in the cable.

I have the FTM-500 and I think your issue is likely a menu setting. I have a post in this thread that provides the radio menu settings to allow it to work with the DigiRig Mobile:

Also, my Packet/VaraFM settings:

Perhaps give it a try and see if you have similar settings that need to be changed.

Awesome! Hope is a great thing to have! I just went through and configured my WSJT-X just like Dennis did here: https://youtu.be/1EtrkyisCnc?t=117
I then took my digital multimeter and measured from pin 2(gnd) to pin 3 and it switches between open circuit and a much lower resistance (about 14 ohms) on the mini-DIN plug. The audio part of the Digirig seems to work fine (at least inbound to computer)
I just can’t seem to get it to trigger the PTT on the radio!? I even went as far as jumpering pin 2 to 3 on the connector which I understood to be the way to activate PTT but that didn’t work either..

I’ll give your settings a try.. I’ve never tried the “SoundModem” application before..
My install won’t let me save with sample rate of 11025, it says " TXSampleRate must be 44k-48khz! "?
