I’m getting an FT 817 running with digirig (on the rear DATA port) and my first test was some APRS decodes with Direwolf on a pi 5. I tampered with every setting I could on the radio and alsamixer but never decoded a packet despite hearing them come through clearly. It could occasionally decode my BPQ node across the room that transmits on 20w but that should be zero problem for direwolf and an operational soundcard.
To test, I swapped in my signalink (also on the data port) and immediately began decoding digipeaters 30 miles away.
I suspect some mechanical defect in the digirig. What should I look for?
Do you have a Windows machine to patch incoming audio to the speaker and monitor for quality? Not sure if what would be the equivalent way to do that on Linux.
That worked. They sound fine on windows using playback and direwolf on windows decodes also.
I’ve already started with a fresh image on this pi a couple times. Not sure what i’m doing wrong.
