Digirig not recognized in Windows 11

OK, let’s pause here.

In your very first post, you did have both Digirig audio devices, speaker and microphone. In the recent post, you have a bunch of new Soundblaster audio devices, and no Digirig microphone. Is that the Mackie external soundcard? A new internal SB card?

What’s your troubleshooting process? Mine is to identify, isolate, then try and solve a single problem at a time.

Thanks, I just uninstalled the Digirig and going to try and reinstall to see if I can start at ground zero. Now need to find the original download file.

Not that it helps now, but I wonder if the MIC and SPEAKER designations got removed when the names were changed in step 5 of my previous post.

Rather than do a full re-install, you could go into the mixer and even though they have the same name now, I BELIEVE the mixer will still know which is which, and you can rename each using step 5 et al, and add Mic and Speaker accordingly to the name, and change the icons to relate correctly. :crossed_fingers:

The only USB sound card I’m currently using is the Sound Blaster which I’ve been using for some time now. I no longer use the Mackie USB. I just turned off the phone Blue Tooth connection and all others audio devices listed are not used or in use. I did reinstall the Digirig and it still shows without input or output designation, just a speaker Icon. Not sure the best way to trouble shoot or why this is happening. Open to, and appreciate your time, input and suggestions. I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone.

We may be simul-posting so this may be redundant.

Go into the Windows mixer and I think you’ll find one of each under Speaker tab, and Microphone tab, as listed in my steps in the previous posts. You can rename and re-icon them there, as previously described, so you’ll know which is which.

Technically, it doesn’t matter what the name is in the Device Manager as I believe Windows mixer knows which is Speaker and which is Mic, so any audio level adjustments you make will react based on the mixer tab you’re at.

EDIT: Steps as listed above to resolve your naming issues:

No, I meant @rscottdw4 and I. Please continue.

also, make sure device manager is not showing ‘disconnected devices’.

it’s an option to show everything you’ve ever installed even if it’s not physically connected at the moment.

Thanks, I have some errands to run, clear my mind, at tackle this a little later. :crossed_fingers:

Yes!! It worked, thanks to you I might add. I’m really trying to get a handle on this and not keep bothering you but grateful for your input. Not sure how to change the Icon but that’s a moot point.

I’m glad it worked.

If you do decided to change the icons, it’s on the same page as step 5, just below the name of the device. You’re correct that it doesn’t matter to the operation.

Now, go have some fun. :grinning:

Good info. That worked for me too. I now have COM6 for Digirig!
