Digirig not sending radio audio using FTM400DR and echolnk

I am using Digirig mobile with cable for FTM400DR or FTM100DR. Is it the Digirig Mobile Cable for Yaesu MiniDin10 9600-baud Data and CAT. Audio received from echo link client is transmitted by transceiver. Signal from a rf client is received by the radio but not sent to the echolink client. Using the USB mic and speaker that showed up after plugging in Digirig. Also after installing drivers the serial port showed up. Using Windows 11.

Let’s determine if this is a hardware, system or software application issue.

Please try monitoring the received audio using “listen” feature of Digirig’s recording device. You can tune into the weather channel to have the continuous audio:

Depending on your results we can focus further troubleshooting.

sing the sond properties app I see the microphone on recordng tab level meter goes up and down with the weather sound from the radio. the client logged in hears nothing.

If the level bar jumps then the audio reaches computer through Digirig. The issue is somewhere in system/app configuration.

Here are some relevant suggestions from the troubleshooting guide:

  • check the permissions – in some systems the access to input audio devices is subject to privacy settings and may be blocked for apps (e.g. “sound card device is not ready” error in windows).
  • check audio device selection – verify that the audio device selected in digital modes app is one that belongs to Digirig. The generic name can be confusing so it is recommended to rename Digirig’s recording and playback devices in Control Panel to make them better recognizable.
  • give permission for apps to access microphone – in Windows 11 modify privacy settings to allow apps access to Digirig’s recording device if you receive “Error in Sound Input” error messages. Similar setting exists on Mac computers under Security & Privacy.
  1. patch through audio – in Control Panel on Windows check Listen to this device box on Digirig’s recording device so the incoming sound is heard on computer speakers. This way you can sample the sound is it is coming through

I have done all of these. I agree the problem is with the echo link app. If I set the app to use VOX it starts to transmit the audio from the radio which is tuned to the weather frequency. As son as I change the radio to a frequency with no signal I get a horrible buzz like an open ground might happen. If I change to digital control in the wizard I get no audio sent to the client. It’s almost as if the audio lead used to receive from the radio switches to something else on the Yaesu FTM400DR. On the Yaesu ten pin audio out should be pin 5 1200. Are you using that pin in digital mode? Or should I be using Link mode?

On 9600 baud cable pin 5 is unconnected. For the voice applications, the 1200 baud cable may be a better option:

I can try it. I see you are on vacation until July 29th and I am having trouble finding it on the web site. Can you send a link to either your site or Amazon.

Both Yeasu cables fail to key my Yeasu FT400DR and transmit audio from client to echoilink server. Tried both and I am returning products to Amazon. VOX fails because FT400DR has VOX only if bluetooth board is installed. 10 pin 96đź« 00 cable fails because it gets terrible hum receiving the audio from the radio when there is no audio. It works when audio, like wx channel.
