Hi everyone,
I am planning to set up a remote station using my Yaesu FT-950, and I want to make sure I choose the right equipment to eliminate latency completely.
Currently, I am using a SignaLink, but its audio-based VOX switching introduces unwanted PTT delay on transmission and an annoying tail/release lag when returning to receive, which makes it unsuitable for real-time remote SSB voice and CW operation.
My plan is to switch to a Digirig Mobile combined with the appropriate cable set, running a remote control solution (such as a browser-based remote setup) at the radio site.
Could you please confirm:
-
Does the Digirig Mobile (using the RTS line from the virtual COM port) provide instantaneous, hardware-based PTT switching without any audio-VOX delay on the Yaesu FT-950 for SSB voice?
-
Will this completely eliminate the tail/release delay when switching back from transmit (TX) to receive (RX)?
Thanks in advance for your help!
