Digirig with FLDigi/FLRig

I am able to get my new Digitig to work with WSJTX for FT8, but i also use FLRig and FLDigi for other digital modes (haven’t tried JS8Call yet).

However, no matter what I do, I can’t get FLDigi or FLRig to sync with the computer. I have all the settings correctly (I think) but when I try to connect FLRig it doesn’t find the transceiver, and FLdigi when I try to tune does nothing.

Anyone have a step guide to set it up or is there some weird setting that is easily overlooked? I’m trying to connect it to an FT-891.

Bruce,
With FT-891 the specific is that for CAT control (sync) you need to also connect radio directly to computer with a separate USB cable. You will find more info here: Cables for Yaesu FT-891

Yes, that i get.

What I’m asking is do I have to use the CAT cable with the radio when using FLDigi/FLRig, or can I control it with just the audio cable like I can for WSJT-x and JS8Call?

Audio cable alone is sufficient if you disable CAT in software (rig=none) and configure PTT by RTS.

Ok, thanks. I’ll keep trying then. For whatever reason I can’t get it to work.

Are you hitting initialize after entering your settings?
