For the Yaesu FT-891, we all know that the DATA IN SELECT (08-09) needs to be set to REAR. If set to Mic, you get the classic mistake of seeing output power when speaking into the mic, not when transmitting via wsjt-x. Typically, you get no output or maybe a tiny bit if you sneeze.
Today, after weeks of running this setup successfully, no output power. Checked the antenna. Removed the new Heil headset. Re-init the radio. Blah, blah. Nothing.
VFO-A was D-U.
VFO-B was USB! I run unit controlled split in wsjt-x, and so DATA IN SELECT wasn’t doing anything since VFO-B is used when running split. Not really sure how come all of a sudden VFO-B was USB and not D-U and why wsjt-x didn’t set up VFO-B properly since I run split. I haven’t updated anything recently.
Anyhow, this isn’t mentioned anywhere I could find, so I thought documenting the issue would help someone.
Also, I never found a software way to get VFO-B to D-U. I ended up just doing an A/B and reselecting the band in wsjt-x.
Also, I used wsjt-x and flrig controlling the radio.
