Dr891 with other radios

Hello everyone, so this may have been hashed oit already, but HRO in Milwaukee couldn’t answer me. I have a FT-891, FT-897, FT-847, and a few different VHF/UHF mobiles, i looking to get a Digirig for the 891, if I buy the DR-891, do i only need new cables for the other radios, essentially isthe dr891 unit and digirig mobile unit the same unit?

Kevin,
Yes, you can use DR-891’s audio side with other radios for basic interfacing. It is a functional equivalent of Digirig Lite. If you need full integration in additional radios including optional serial CAT control then you’ll need Digirig Mobile in appropriate configurations (logic levels for FT-897, RS-232 for FT-847).
