I could use some help with specific settings in fleig connected to a digirig connected to the data port of an Icom ic-7000. Current settings not working. Com 4 9600 8/1/none. In flrig xcvr is right ic-7000, update Com 4, baud 9600, 1 stop bit checked. Init comes up select separate ports. Under PTT-Generic PTT on CAT Serial Port all OFF and PTT control on Sep Serial Port Port Com4 RTS SET Dtr is OFF when I hit Init it changed Port to None. Dave K7GPS
Dave,
I also have the IC-7000 BUT its not online at this time.
I can pull it out and set it up and see what it does. If you dont get yours working in the next couple of days let me know. If you want we can talk on the phone, my Cell3 415-827-4029.
I have used it in the past with the Signalink and the CI-V Cable. I think I did also have it on the Digirig Mobile and it worked. Let me know. 73 de Steve KB6HOH in the SF Bay Area
Thx Steve. I usually spend an hour each day with various settings but so far no good. Appreciate some help. Dave K7GPS
Dave, I just setup my IC-7000 with the Digirig Mobile.
A couple of things stood out.
- Make sure you have the right DigiRig Mobile for CI-V.
- Check your Comport settings and verify that the Driver(s) are there for the
Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge. - I’m going to try and Upload some Screen Shots I made if not, I have you gmail address off of QRZ.com. Let see what happens!
Dave, I forgot to mention NOT to use any other PTT Options.
Thx Steve. Won’t be able to check it out till tomorrow. I’ll be back in touch with the results. Prev when setting pos v one on left radio went to TX but never disconnected, so I had to unplug. Did not try both check boxes.
Dave, I made an ERROR.
In my Config Pic showing Radio and Comport settings I had
RTS and DTR enable. If you do that, at least on mine it locks the TX on.
I had taken the Pic of the front of the Radio before the other.
Also I recommend setting the CI-V Baud Rate in the Radio to 19200.
I find 9600 is to slow. Be sure to reset in FLrig as well. Let me know how it goes.
It’s been one CF after another. WSJTX is receiving and decoding, but I’m getting the hamlib data error and can’t find where to fix that. I do have it on CAT and baud rate 19.2. When I test CAT it comes up with the hamlib error. Going to update WSJTX now, and try FLRIG again, which also isn’t working.
Hate to admit this, but I just watched the video showing solder mods required to make the digirig mobile cat compatible. Working on that today. Dave
Dave, did u buy the Digirig direct from them or off of Amazon?
I understand the ones on there r for the RS-232 and not CI-V.
Steve KB6HOH
Digirigs at Amazon are logic levels not RS-232, but yes for CI-V they need to be reconfigured.
Denis, Tnx for the correction. 73! de Steve KB6HOH
Amazon. I’m watching the video again and ready to cut.
I made the cuts and solders on my Digirig, but still had no initialization between the radio and computer. I contacted Denis at Digirig and sent him some pics and info. His response got me partially working now after I replaced the 13pin mini-din with the other cable 3/32 on both ends. It seems to be working pretty good, but audio coming into Digirig is low on the meter. Still working on it today.
Glad to see I’m not the only Ic7000 getting a hamlib error. I have been working at getting the Digirig to work for a while. Not sure what the 13pin mini din with the other cable 3/32 on both ends are. But If you figure it out please post the answer.
Thanks
