I am trying to get PTT to work with a FT-65 using the digirig cable for the FT-65. The cable is from 2022. After reading the forums it seems there is an issue with Japanese made FT-65 and older cables. Should I purchase a new cable?
Thank you

While troubleshooting via email using a simulated PTT test we have established that the cable is ok:

Please review the PTT configuration in the software you are configuring (direwolf). It needs to match the PTT methods supported by the model of the Digirig interface you use - Digirig Mobile uses PTT by RTS, Digirig Lite uses PTT by GPIO3 or internal VOX.
Thank you for your help on this.
I am trying to use PAT to send email via 2M packet using an FT-65 and a Digirig Mobile using Ubuntu 22.04. I am using the Digirig cable for the FT-65. All Digirig equipment is from 2022.
If I use VOX the radio transmit is triggered.
If I try to use PTT transmit is not triggered
My PTT line in Direwolf (version 1.6) is
PTT /dev/ttyUSB0
I have doubled check I have the right port
I did the cable test and the PTT was triggered so the cable is good.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
To rule out any hardware issues entirely I would test the PTT on a PC using WJST-X as shown in the video. With that out of the way you can focus strictly on the software configuration.
I tried to do the WSJT-X test but I couldn’t get things to work but in the process I found the problem. Another program that was loading through Systemd was tying up the port the Digirig was on. Once I unloaded the program PTT started working.
Thanks again for your help.
i think you need RTS after the /dev/tty*
according to the direwolf manual
good luck
