On JS8 it can decode, but will not transmit when i try to respond. The program acts like it transmitting, but nothing happens with the radio. It decodes, but nothing else. In js8call, i can’t use the test cat or test ptt, but when i push the test cat in wsjtx, it gives me a slew of erros.
Rig failure
Hamlib error: rig_confparam_lookup called for serial_handshake
rig_set_conf called
serial handshake none
a slew of others.
I get the occastional io error when trying to communicate with the radio.
I have a picture of the long list of errors if you would like me to send it.
JS8Call has similar configuration form as WSJT-X. Here’s the screenshot from the setup manual for DR-891. Your setup will likely have different COM port number:
thank you. Unfortunately, most times the test buttons are just white, sometimes the test cat is red. I get a rig failure, hamlib error: IO error while opening connection to rig.
Are the settings in the screenshot above the same (except maybe COM port number) as in your software? Also, check that the transceiver settings match those in the setup manual.
I have a usb a to usb b cable on the way, it should be here on tuesday. I accidentally clicked on a youtube video on the computer i use for js8 and when the video started the radio started transmitting, but not continuously. What could cause this?
In both az and tx they receive and decode but, neither transmit, but the az one at one point did. In TX, the js8 transmit frequency displays zeros in large font, but arizona displays the 40m frequency unless i change it.
Make sure Digirig’s soundcard is not assigned as a default playback and recording device in the control panel. The right audio channel in DR-891 and Digirig Lite is feeding into a VOX circuit and keys up the radio when audio is present.
