FT70 and FT5 connection to DigiRig Mobile

The FT5d and the FT70 use the same cable from the radio to the DigiRig Mobil. The problem is that on the 5D, there is a small water seal around the jack that the 70 does not have. This prevents the cable from reliably seating. Have you seen this before or know a solution? I suppose I could cut away the seal, don’t really want to, but I don’t know of any other way.

Jeff,
With FT-5DR you can get a better fit if you rotate the jack around several times while holding it in the HT’s accessory socket. This allows the rubber ring to climb on top of the metal shoulder at the base of the jack. Alternatively, you can file that shoulder flush with the rest of the jack’s shaft so there is nothing for the rubber seal to push against.
