Hello,
I am trying to ID this digirig. I am not sure how many versions are out there but I need to find out if this unit will work with a Yeasu FTM-500DR. Photos attached I think. The unit has the USB-C on one side and Audio and Serial on the other. It came packaged with the cable kit for the Yaesu FT-8xx radio. I am guessing I will at least get a new cable set as IIRC the 500 has a 10 pin data jack.
the digirig itself is probably default/logic level since it has ft-817 cables.
iâm just guessing though, youâd have to open up the digirig and check continuity of the âoption padsâ otherwise.
now, iâm not familiar with the ftm-500 so i can only offer this:
any digirig mobile will provide audio+ptt (rts line) to any radio so unless you need/want to use CAT/CI-V/remote control, it wonât matter what config a digirig mobile has.
you just need the audio+ptt cable that matches your radio âjacksâ.
again, this is operating without remote control functions of the digirig mobile serial jack/cable
good luck

This is Digirig Mobile in default (logic levels) configuration. As @webmonkey mentioned, any configuration works for base digital modes functionality (audio + PTT).
Yeasu FTM-500DR doesnât support CAT control so it will not make any difference in this regard if you connect serial port or not. There are some secondary serial functions supported by the radio (e.g. memory programming, GPS output etc - see the manual for info). For that youâll need Digirig Mobile in RS-232 configuration (one with dot on letter âRâ).
Thanks guys for your quick responses and help!
