Ic-7100 not connecting to digirig mobile

Hello folks

I had bought an DIGIRIG MOBILE with the cable to connect to the IC-7100 as the USB PORT is dead. However, I had no luck in connecting it to the radio. I had been reading a lot of information and watched several videos but yet, no luck.
Please could you see below the setup I have and if you can check it to see if all is OK and then I have a hardware issue not a setup issue??

PHISICAL CONNECTION behind IC-7100
AUDIO CABLE TO THE DATA DIN OUTPUT

SERIAL (GREEN) TO THE REMORE 3.5 JACK OUTPUT

On the ICOM 7100 settings are
DATA MOD – ACC
DATA MOD OFF – MIC
CIV BAUD RATE – 19200 (MATCH COMPUTER)
CIV ADDRESS – 88h
CI-V TRANCEIVE – OFF
CI-V OUTPUT (FOR ANT) – OFF

COM PORT CHHECK

That is the error I am getting

it says it was unable to determine Icom echo status

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

i assume you bought a digirig mobile in CI-V configuration?

i know the bundles come correct but just checking.

the setup pictures you posted look correct.

is there any other menu item in the 7100 for ‘directing’ the CI-V control ?

i know there was something when remoting it, with the icom rs1 or something.

other than that, there could be a CI-V ‘jack’ fault

i’ve seen a few older icom series CI-V jack/circuits die

(736,738 era)

lastly, you might try another program just to see if hamlib (in wsjt-x) is giving you the grief.

flrig/dig etc.

good luck

Hi there Chris, thanks for reply.

  • Yes, this is a DIGIRIG Mobile.
  • Unfortunately, I could not find or discover any other CI‑V echo setup for the IC‑7100, despite a thorough search.
  • I tried different software applications that require COM communication, and none of them succeeded.
At this point, I am moving to the next stage and assuming this is a hardware issue, so I will be sending the radio to a technician to check and repair the USB interface.

Once again, thanks for the support best 73

Luis,

Try a loopback test on the serial port without any radio cables connected your Digirig. This will confirm working serial port in CI-V configuration.
