Icom AT-180 v. Digirig

So, I’m running an IC-706MkII with an Icom AT-180.
In the AT-180, Icom chose not to bridge pin 7 (VSEND) of the ACC connectors. Consequently, Digirig won’t trigger the IC-706 to transmit when it’s set to VHF for VaraFM, etc.
I’m considering cracking the AT-180 open and adding a bridge connection between pin 7 of both ACC connectors. That’s what the Digirig cable does, bridging HSEND and VSEND.
Any pros or cons?
Thanks

i never had the icom tuner when i ran the 706 series in the truck.

that being said, if it was me, i WOULD bridge the hsend/vsend
i didn’t see the need to distinguish hf/vhf PTT for my applications.

good luck

Okay, y’all, I did it.
The operation was successful and the patient survived.
Pin7 is brought out to the circuit board and goes nowhere. A piece of 26 gauge wire was tacked in to the pins at the surface of the boards.
As predicted, the only downside to this is that the fan in the AT-180 runs when VHF transmit is occurring.
Happy Camper!
