That is a long way around Digirig. Let’s try walking you back.
Can you try using your working CAT5 + CT17 setup for CI-V while using Digirig for audio and PTT? Any RFI issues in this scenario?

I tried the following:
Using the PTT/CAT with digirig and audio from the laptop using my homebrew interface, I see the same issue.
When using digirig as audio interface and the ICOM CT-17 CAT interface for CAT/PTT I see no issue at all.

Thanks for additional testing. This confirms that the RFI issue is isolated to serial comms and doesn’t affect the audio codec. You should also be able to use Digirig’s hardware PTT by RTS.

Now back to CI-V:

  • I see you also got USB isolator. Does that make any difference with RFI situation?
  • Did you have a chance to try Omnirig?

Hi Denis,
The USB isolator makes zero difference, I think this is really pointing towards RF going back into the IC-7000 CAT port from the Digirig.

I have never tried Omnirig, I will give it a try.
That said, JS8Call suffers the same problem (but not as severe) as do other programs including PAT and fldigi
