I have an IC-718 with a Digirig mobile. I have everything set up and can see the wsjt-x decoding information. When I try to transmit the IC-718 doesn’t change to transmit.
do you have PTT set to RTS of the digirig mobile comport?
kb0wlf
only when you have the TX Enable button ‘activated’ on the bottom ‘row’ of buttons in wsjt-x

there are quite a few operating options within wsjt-x itself.
like:
double click on call sets tx enable
etc
can you try pulling the audio/ptt cable out of the digirig and jumping the sleeve and ring 2 of the digirig end of the cable ?
this should put the radio in TX.
(just to check operation of the cable/radio connection)
good luck

I have pulled that out and verified that the radio will go into transmit mode when those are jumped. That is what is puzzling. It is something simple that I am overlooking but just can’t find it.
good, one link of the chain is verfied at least ![]()
the radio will ptt from the acc port pins
in wsjt-x, on the ‘radio’ page of the settings, there are ‘test cat’ and ‘test ptt’ buttons.
do they do anything?
you can just use the test ptt button and not mess with the cat button to start with
—> if you wouldn’t mind, on that page, select RIG: NONE
just to focus down onto the PTT issue.
of course leave the PTT sections as you have them assuming com7 is still the correct comport # (a simple thing like using a different usb port will change the # on you)

When I click the PTT the button turns red but the radio doesn’t go into transmit mode.
i’m stumped.
is the cp210 vcom driver installed for the digirig serial port?
(with the selection of com7 i’m assuming it is
)
that’s the only thing left i can think of.
your settings look fine to me.
i run an IC-736 rigs and an IC-821h with digirig mobiles
well, i have:
fake it
for split. maybe try that or none for split.
(perhaps hamlib sends a cmd via ci-v for ‘rig’ that the ic-718 doesn’t like?)
sorry i couldn’t help with this one.
i’m sure @K0TX , Denis will check this thread with better ideas.

Webmonkey,
Thanks for the help. At this point I guess I am getting out but no one is answering this rookie.
I’m also having the same issues currently, i’ve got CAT control of my IC-706 & IC-718 with normal receiving but have no PTT, i’ve installed the drivers and checked the cable, the digirig (mobile) is also a brand new one as i had issues with my other one, the Com port is also set to the correct setting in wsjt-x. hopefully we are able to resolve the issues.
I am currently using and EFHW antenna. I am going to try my 20m dipole antenna today and see if that changes things. I don’t know what else to do at this point.
Did you say it is getting out but no responses?
Maybe I misread that but if so, the check your power out and ALC. Nobody responds to to stations overdriving/over powering their signal.
If it’s still not driving PTT—you may have tried this already—hook a meter between the sleeve and ring 2 and make sure pin 2 goes to ground on transmit.
BTW, what is your config on the 736? The Dr dot net site says to use a cable to speaker out for dr_audio_in, but the cat (ci-v) port has audio, I think.
Maybe check your signal out on a remote WebSDR to see if you are getting out, but not being answered.
Constrainted
my, kb0wlf, ic-736 uses the digirig DIN 8 Cable set.
there is no audio on the ci-v port, just remote control.
this is a 3.5mm mono jack
on the acc1 din8, there is audio in/out and ptt
good luck

Yeah, I meant ACC1. What threw me off was the the male connector that plugs into remote ci-v port.
I’m having the same issues with my 718. Tho there are some things in here I haven’t tried so I will do that when I can.
I have tried to update hamlib but it fails.
If you experience the issue with PTT line not working, please check out what was the cause and solution in a recent similar case:
Which silicon driver> I see several. one says “with serial emulator” I don’t know which one is correct.
I didn’t mention the driver in my post, but if you need to identify the serial port introduced by Digirig Mobile the look for entry in device manager with description “Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COMx)”. The port will disappear when you unplug Digirig from the USB port.
Yeah, sorry, I had posts mixed up. For what it’s worth @kb0wlf, try the universal driver. It got me going. Still have some tweaking, as I have no reports with my call being received on pskreporter.
