Icom IC-735 cable advise

Hi,
Hoping for some guidance on creating a cable for the IC-735
Have it all working on my IC-706mkiig but they don’t share the same accessory connector

Have a pic of the IC-735 acc ports - see attached

Thank you for your guidance

We’ll be connecting to ACC1

DIN8 pin 5 (AF) → 3.5mm TRRS tip (RIG_AFOUT)
DIN8 pin 4 (MOD) → 3.5mm TRRS ring 1 (RIG_AFIN)
DIN8 pin 3 (SEND) → 3.5mm TRRS ring 2 (PTT)
DIN8 pin 2 (GND) → 3.5mm TRRS sleeve (GND)

Please post your results.

Same pinout should work for following transceivers:

  • Icom IC-275
  • Icom IC-721
  • Icom IC-725
  • Icom IC-726
  • Icom IC-728
  • Icom IC-729
  • Icom IC-732
  • Icom IC-735
  • Icom IC-736
  • Icom IC-737
  • Icom IC-738
  • Icom IC-761
  • Icom IC-765
  • Icom IC-775
  • Icom IC-781
  • Icom IC-970
  • Icom IC-7600
  • Icom IC-7700
  • Icom IC-7800
  • Icom IC-756

Thank you for this - this worked on my IC735

I would add two notes:

  1. The pin out shown above is from the view of the back of the radio. This makes wiring the plug pretty straight forward - with the solder cups of the male connector facing up / toward you the pin out is the same as shown
    — don’t over think it like I did and reverse / flip the connector over in your head and wire it backwards …

  2. IC-735 default setting are 1200 baud, 8 bits no parity 1 stop bit (address 04)

  • changing to 9600 baud made control from the front panel of the radio more stable when communicating with an app running on the computer. You can still spin the knobs on the radio to fast and get errors in the app
    – changing baud rate - J22 - 6pin jumper on the top board (under the PA) front panel facing you
    — move J1 to J2 to change from default 1200 to 9600 baud

Thank
