Im using a Icom 910h with Ham Radio Deluxe. The challenge im having started when i disconnected my rig to use for Field day. since then i cannot get HRD to recognize my radio. I did not change any menu items on the rig. Im using the same settings on HRD as i used when it was working. I tried setting up on my 3 computers as well as i
at a buddys house with his 2 computers. My question is could it be the digi rig?
This would be easy to determine.
Do you see Digirig’s components detected by the computer and displayed in the device manager?

Thanks for the reply. Yes the computer sees the comport and the sound card under Sound, video and game controllers. I tried on 5 different computers at different locations, they see the comport but HRD and WSJT-X wont connect. It was working, made a few dozen sat contacts at home as well as portable at field day.
wow, i would have quit after 2
my only thoughts are that for hrd and wsjt-x to ‘work’ at the same time;
you must have hrd running, then start wsjt-x AND have wsjt-x use ‘ham radio deluxe’ instead of defining a radio and comport for ptt and cat control.
this is how i run my main pc so wsjt-x will semi-auto log into hrd.
on all the other setups for mobile/portable and vhf/uhf work, i run wsjt-x stand alone.
defining radio, comms, etc and then manually retrieving the adif after each session.
good luck

Thanks again. I don’t have any challenges with my hf rig. It’s my ic 910h vhf/uhf rig that’s the problem. Can’t get it to load up on HRD or WSJTX. I’m using a digirig made for icom ci-v. Brand new cables. I’m stumped. My other half said to buy the Icom 9700 and be done with it. I wanted to buy better antennas for satellite qso’s and possibly earth moom earth bounce. Right now I’m bouncing signals off of the local repeater. No computer involved. At least the radio does work.
i’m following you now.
i thought you were trying to use wsjt-x and hrd simultaneously.
my satellite rig is an icom ic-821h. still working the birds with digirig helping with wsjt-x and satpc32.
i did set my ci-v baudrate to 9600 (in the icom radio menu) and match that with wsjt-x
(in windows device manager i never set the baud rate, only the comport # i want to assign)
lastly, some icom radios will let you set the address for the rig. this is in case you want to use 2 identical radios on the same ci-v bus. (ci-v is cool in that one ‘serial port’ can connect to multiple radios, each having different addresses)
anyway, see if the ci-v address in the 910h menu matches the default address for that model. in this case 0x60
sorry i couldn’t be of more help.

Thanks for your input. No need to apologize. You caring to offer some guidance is more than enough. For the life of me I can’t understand what happened. It was working. My radio matches Hrd exactly. I gave the rig to the clubs Icom guru. He has the same digirig as I have. I’m hoping he can swap them and magically everything works. Could the digirig be bad? Comport is there. Sound card is there. Maybe from the digirig to the radio is bad? I’m grasping at straws now. If I get up and running I will let you know. Maybe work you on a sat sometime. Thank you for your guidance.

Congrats on CY9C! I’m glad these troubles didn’t stop you from getting that callsign in the log!
