I have searched many places and cannot information, and not even the radios users manual provides any info, for what I am looking for.
Plugged in the serial cable today for cat control on the kenwood ts 480 sat, and set the wsjtx software radio control tab per specifications. The ptt test button does not even activate. while the cat control test button does. Every time I try to test it it comes back with an io error, and a timeout message. Is there something I am missing within the radios settings or the software settings?
I was able to get my Kenwood TS-570s to key using RTS and the com port of the digirig modem. It keys the rig using the ACC2 port plug without the DigiRigs db-09 cable plugged into the Kenwoods serial port.
I was not able to get the CAT freq change to work.
Did your setup change the frequancy via CAT control??
The Digirig has a single USB connection to the computer and you need both RIG cables plugged into the radio and Digirig. The ACC2 cable and DB-9 cable. Use the same COM3 for the PTT method as well. RTS is checked, I used NONE for Handshake. I checked USB under MODE and NONE for split operation. I used BAUD RATE of 57600 to ensure the CTRL is displayed constantly on the radio. In WSJT-X that should work. In FLDIGI, I used the HAMLIB for PTT/RIGCONTROL. Hope this helps. Dan KF0YV
